Pass through areas where hunting is taking place

The Right of Public Access continues to apply when hunting is taking place, but you may not deliberately obstruct or disrupt the hunt. Extra consideration is appropriate when you notice hunting activity.

Can I be in Swedish nature while hunting is taking place?

Yes. The Right of Public Access still applies during hunting, but deliberately obstructing or disrupting an ongoing hunt or intentionally disturbing game is prohibited.

Local temporary safety arrangements may exist and should be respected; this guide does not assess any specific ongoing hunt.

Access does not automatically stop during hunting

The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency states that activities such as berry and mushroom picking may still take place while hunting is underway.

Do not disrupt the hunt

Deliberately obstructing or interfering with hunting can be unlawful.

Use practical consideration

If you encounter signs, hunters or obvious hunting activity, make yourself visible and choose an alternative route when practical.

Do not intentionally disturb wildlife

Intentionally disturbing game is also prohibited.
